About this rug

A plain field inside a scalloped edge and a ring of soft dots

The edge is cut into even scallops rather than finished straight, and a single row of dots is set just inside it like stitching on a quilt. Everything else is left plain. It is the one rug in this group that reads as decorative without carrying a pattern, which is why it tends to end up in a nursery, a dressing room or a bedroom rather than a sitting room.

Made in cream, stone, blue, green and pink. Cream and ivory lift a dark room and make a small one feel larger. They ask a little more care by a front door, but in a sitting room or bedroom they do more for the space than a dark rug can. Beige sits between warm and cool, which is why it is the most forgiving neutral in a room with mixed woods and metals.

How it is made

Woven in Turkey from 100% microfibre polyester on a jute backing, at a 13mm pile. At 2,500 g/m² it has real weight, so it lies flat from the first day and stays where you put it. Colour is dyed into the yarn before weaving rather than printed on afterwards, which is why it has depth and will not fade to a flat block.

Which size do I need?

160x230cm suits most uk sitting rooms and is the size to pick if you want the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug.

Under a dining table, allow around 60cm beyond each edge so chairs stay on the rug when they are pulled out.

Looking after it

This is a spot-clean rug rather than a washable one. Vacuum on a low, suction-only setting, blot spills as they happen, and rotate it every few months so it wears evenly. The full care guide is on the Care tab.
