About this rug

A dense medallion in cream on cream, lifted only by the weave

The drawing is as detailed as a formal Persian carpet and the colour range is about two shades wide. A central rosette sits in a field of fine scrollwork, framed by a border of the same density, and the whole thing is held in ivory and bone so the pattern appears and disappears depending on the light.

2 colours to choose from

Made in beige and grey. Beige sits between warm and cool, which is why it is the most forgiving neutral in a room with mixed woods and metals. Grey is the safest choice in a room you have already decorated — it picks up what is around it instead of competing, and it works equally over oak, laminate and dark wood.

How it is made

Woven in Turkey from 60% polypropylene, 40% polyester on a cotton backing, at a 10mm pile. At 1,950 g/m² it has real weight, so it lies flat from the first day and stays where you put it. Colour is dyed into the yarn before weaving rather than printed on afterwards, which is why it has depth and will not fade to a flat block.

Which size do I need?

160x230cm suits most uk sitting rooms and is the size to pick if you want the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug; 200x290cm works where the seating is spread wider, or under a six-seat dining table; 240x340cm and 300x400cm are for open-plan rooms where the rug has to define the seating area on its own; the smaller sizes suit a bedside, a hallway or a study; 80x300cm is a runner for a hall or a landing.

Under a dining table, allow around 60cm beyond each edge so chairs stay on the rug when they are pulled out.

Looking after it

This is a spot-clean rug rather than a washable one. Vacuum on a low, suction-only setting, blot spills as they happen, and rotate it every few months so it wears evenly. The full care guide is on the Care tab.
