The Bombay Jute Hopsack Sisal Rug is made from 100% polypropylene, designed to replicate the texture and tone of natural sisal without inheriting its problems. Natural plant fibre drinks up spills, marks with water and turns brittle in a dry room. Polypropylene does none of that: spills sit on the surface instead of soaking in, it will not shed or break down over time, and it can be cleaned with soapy water or diluted bleach without harming the colour.

That makes it unusually flexible about where it goes. It is stain and moisture resistant enough for a hallway, a kitchen doorway or under a dining table, and it is suitable outdoors as well as in — a covered porch, a garden room, a balcony.
